Charles Franklin Thurston Sr., was born on August 31, 1942 to the late John L. Thurston, and Julie Martin in Cokesbury, Md. He departed this life on Saturday November 23, 2019 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, Delaware.
Thurston received his early education in the George Washington Carver High School Elkton, Maryland.
He was united in holy matrimony to Savannah E. Christy on September 25, 1986. From this union one child was born.
He was employed by Haywood Construction Company, Aberdeen Proving Ground, and later the City of Havre de Grace and there he took an early retirement in 2004. His favorite hobbies were listening to music, watching western movies, and he also loved reading the bible.

Thurston Jr., Elkton, Maryland; Tyrone Thurston, North East, Maryland; Isaiah Thurston, Havre de Grace, Maryland; 4 daughters, Monica Thurston, North East, Maryland; Phyllis Thurston, Newark, Delaware; Martanine Thurston, Havre de Grace, Maryland; Trinessa Brown (Antron) Dallas, Georgia; and 1 stepdaughter, Cleo Stokes, Edgewood, Maryland; 1 brother Henry Martin (Sharon); 16 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 3 brother in-laws: Robert Woodley, Jerome Christy, and Arnold Christy; 3 sister in-laws: Idream Wiggins, Catherine D. Pritchett (George), Shirley Christy, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Charles proceeded in death by his parents John L. Thurston and Julie Martin, one daughter Sharon Thurston and two grandsons, Terrance Lee Triplett and Deyron Akhil Thurston and a brother Richard Clark.
