Obituary

“HAZEL” MARIE CHRISTY, was born on July 12, 1925 to the late Daisy Brown & William Shepperd in Perryman, MD. She departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Marie accepted Christ at an early age, joining Union United Methodist church where her mother was long time member. As she came of age, she assisted with Vacation Bible School, later joining United Methodist Women as an adult.

As a young adult she worked as an Officer Driver at Aberdeen Proving Ground during the Korean War. Later, she met and married Bernard Christy, Sr. and together they built a home and a family of seven children.

Marie loved to travel, often taking trips with the Lucky Ladies travel group or with her family. She enjoyed photography and was an avid gardener; often making dishes from the vegetables in her garden.

Marie always expressed pride about being able to make bread at the age of 90 years old.

She was also an animal lover, housing several dogs and enjoying Koi fish in her pond.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Larry Christy (Glory) of Bel Air, DeLores Christy Ford (Robert) of Alexandria, VA, Sharon Christy of Havre de Grace, Deborah Foxworth (William) of Parkville, Chantal Christy of Aberdeen; two step-sons Bernard Christy Jr. (Brenda), S. Stanley Christy (Rachel) of Millersville, and a host of grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and family and friends.
