On October 17, 2018 Jesus called home his beautiful Yesenia Abigail Ruth Edwards. She is survived by her loving single mother Tecora Edwards, caring grandparents John and Hazel Edwards, supportive 11 aunts and uncles, great aunt Annice Bradley, many cousins, devoted God Mothers Milagra Wain, Kadeesha Edwards, and Jen Jenkins, awesome God Father Travis Jenkins.
Yesenia Abigail Ruth arrived 27 weeks early on September 1, 2017 due date November 29, 2017. She was born with Robinow syndrome, Tetralogy a fallot along with chronic lung disease. Tecora knew that she was going to face an unknown journey but she was determined to walk the path God destined for her.
Yesenia was in the NICU for 2 ½ months then transferred to Mt. Washington Hospital for a month in a half. Then back to Johns Hopkins for a g-tube placement and repaired intestines from being twisted surgery, she was placed in the PICU for a 6 week recovery stay. Came home for 29 days then back to the PICU with RSV. She was placed on ECMO and that was another weeks of a recovery stay.
Yesenia had a total of 5 heart surgeries, 2 being open heart. She was very loved by the Johns Hopkins NICU, PICU, Cardiology Team, staff, nurses, and doctors. Yesenia did a get a second chance to come home to spend the entire summer with cousins. She got to travel to see the ocean for the first time. Tried a swimming pool but Yesenia was only fond of her bath water.
Yesenia had a feisty personality. She loved musical learning shows. Her favorite top3 songs (2 sung by mom) Jesus loves you; You are my sunshine and 5 Little ducks. Her favorite TV shows were Word Party and Little Baby Bum, favorite movie was HOME. She was a born fighter, extremely smart and did not like being touched unless she allowed you. Always had a mean mug observant face, talked with her eyes, yet a killer smile.
Yesenia touched many lives all over the world and was bathed in prayer and love. May the good Lord God welcome sweet pea Baby Ruth my Yesenia with excitement, joyful, singing, loving arms into his paradise to be with her best friend Everleigh. Yesenia you will be truly missed.
